Where I last left off, it was still a flat plane and had no ring around it. It’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates, but the Leopardus medallion has already been finished, printed, and delivered to me. I’m going to need to bevel a lot of edges so it doesn’t look like a couple of donuts. Here’s how it looks with and without the subdivision smoothing. I was able to better clean up the mesh so that the subdivide can be better applied. Lucky that error happened, though, because I re-downloaded the model I’d already had up there, before my brother’s adamant concerns about smoothing. It allows you to set different levels of subdivision without committing until clicking “apply.” Unfortunately, I went too far and created to many polygons, the two computers I alternate between could barely handle it, and I kept getting an error when trying to upload to Shapeways. I found a way to smooth it using Subdivision Surface in the modifiers panel. He had worries about how big it would be, and how smooth the flared parts would be.īesides that, I used to have the stone setting on one side, but he wanted it shown through on both sides “like the game”(because it was a single image plane). I almost had this thing printed, but my brother wanted some changes. OBJs to Shapeways, the models appear upside down in the previews, so I’ve started flipping them before uploading. Unless the parts are too close, Shapeways can print interlocking pieces, so I can successfully make the entire chain instead of just the pendant. The chain in-game was practically two perpendicular, paper-thin images, since it was made for a handheld console. However, the bit on the end would be a little boring by itself, it is a keychain, so I’ve sculpted the the whole chain and (fake) carabiner according to some images someone ripped from the game. The keychain itself is mostly polygonal so it seemed simple enough. So I’m still working within the realm of Kingdom Hearts stuff. (Too be completely honest, I’ve also started a second keychain…) I didn’t make any updates about the Leopardus until after it arrived, and I began working on this keychain right after that was ordered. I made it and came very close to getting it ordered for printing, too, all before ever making a post here. He requested the keychain off of Terra’s keyblade, Ends of the Earth. I tend to want to just start something new, or keep working rather than stop and make a note of where I am in the process.Īfter finishing the Leopardus medallion and ordering it for printing, I asked my brother what I should make next.
